Cover material samples for fine art photography books

Materials & Finishes

Cover Materials

Every cover is hand-assembled using premium materials chosen for beauty, durability, and archival integrity.

Crafted to Last Generations

The cover is the first thing your client touches. We offer a curated selection of bonded leathers, fine linens, specialty cloths, and handmade papers — each sourced for its quality and its ability to age gracefully. All materials are archival and free from acids, solvents, and dyes that degrade over time.

01

Timeless Leather

Our genuine bonded leathers sourced from tanneries known for consistency and archival quality. Leather covers develop a natural patina over time, growing more beautiful with age. Available in a range of colors from classic black and deep burgundy to warm cognac, slate and navy.

  • Built to last
  • Smooth finish
  • Available in 5 colors

02

Fine Linen

European bookbinding linens woven specifically for case-bound books. Linen covers have a refined, tactile quality that photographs beautifully and holds debossing and foil stamping with exceptional crispness. A popular choice for wedding albums and editorial portfolios.

  • Natural undyed linen
  • Dyed linen in multiple colors and textures
  • Fine weave and coarse weave options
  • Ideal for debossing and foil

03

Specialty Cloth

A broad family of bookbinding cloths including Japanese cloth, and cotton-based materials. Specialty cloths offer a wide range of textures and colors. Get creative and pair different bookcloth treatments and even bookcloth and specialty paper.

  • Buckram
  • Japanese cloth
  • Cotton bookcloth
  • Archival grade throughout

04

Specialty Paper

For clients who want a distinctive, design-forward cover, our specialty papers include handmade paper cover treatments you wont find anywhere else. Paper covers are typically paired with bookcloth and are well-suited for limited-edition or artist's book projects.

  • Marbled papers
  • Handmade papers
  • Premium coated stocks
  • Custom printed covers available

Personalization Options

Every cover can be personalized with the following finishing techniques, applied by hand in our studio.

Debossing

A name, monogram, date, or logo pressed into the cover material without ink. Debossing creates a subtle, elegant impression that is felt as much as seen.

Foil Stamping

Metallic or pigmented foil applied under heat and pressure. Available in gold, silver, rose gold, copper, and matte black. Foil stamping adds a luxurious, high-contrast finish to any cover material.

Printed Cover Panels

A full-color image printed on fine art paper and mounted flush to the cover board. Ideal for covers featuring a photograph, artwork, or custom graphic design.

Signed Editions

All our books are printed on museum quality matte paper using archival pigment ink. Our pages are engineered to receive ink, and work extremely well for signed first editions, sign-in books, or any kind of handwritten treatment on any page spread.
